ive found this book by Betty Edwards (drawing on the right side of the brain) really usefull for some simple drawing exercises. might be good for any primary folks looking for some inspiration!

new year new teaching new art
First blog ever! not quite as confusing as i thought.
2012 seems to be going pretty well so far. We had a class trip to the Gallery of Modren art on tuesday which was a really nice start to the new year. I left feeling excited and motivated by the concept of bringing contemporary art into the classroom, and I think we all really enjoyed having the opportunity to have a good chat about the work on show.
It highlighted the challenge for us as teachers to initiate these discussions with children and channel our questioning to help tease out the opinions and initiate a good old debate.
